The Swift Group is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join an exciting mission oriented program. The role is located on onsite in Herndon, VA and requires a TS/SCI with Poly clearance

• Install and configure components within cloud and on-premises instances based on project requirements.
• Manage and scale hosting items used for department instances, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Architect server and storage requirements, including efficient and sufficient storage solutions for cloud-based applications and services.
• Analyze and recommend the best cloud selection, including potential hybrid solutions combining on-premises infrastructure with cloud services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements for cloud deployments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Capture, analyze, and decompose system requirements, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks and principles.
• Utilize systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, JAMA, JIRA) for requirement management and lifecycle support.
• Stay informed about technical trends in cloud computing and infrastructure technologies.
• Assist in project management efforts, applying Agile, Spiral, or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise technical architecture and security standards.
• Keep senior management informed of project status and assist in preparing for program management reviews.

Required Qualifications:

• 6 years' experience in cloud engineering and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) concepts and practices.
• Strong understanding of system requirements capture, analysis, and design.
• Experience with systems engineering lifecycle (SELC) and enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and technologies.
• Ability to apply project management methodologies (Agile, Spiral, Waterfall) to development efforts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure, Oracle Cloud, or Google Cloud.
• Scripting experience for infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Knowledge of storage patterns and technologies, particularly Smart Store.
• Understanding of on-premises hosting technologies (server, network, storage).
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) practices.
• Proficiency in Agile development principles and modern software languages (e.g., Java, C, C , C#, Python, Perl).
