Job SummaryThe Assistant AV Manager will assist the AV-IT Manager in overseeing all aspects of event operations involving audio-visual (AV) equipment, including sound, lighting, and video. The Assistant AV Manager will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of events while providing excellent AV service to our clients. Job duties will focus on all AV operations, set up & tear down of events. While supporting & helping continue to grow the department, assist with managing the AV department, and provide excellent AV service to our clients.
Job QualificationsEducation & Experience:
- At least 3 years of progressive audio-visual experience in a hotel, conference center, or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 4 or more years of related experience.
- Must be proficient in the latest audio visual and production technologies.
- Audio Visual certification preferred.
- General knowledge on running sound for live music events, mixing, sound levels, running wireless transmitters and the production of a music show.

General Requirements:
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

- Comply with AT Hospitality regulations to encourage safe and efficient property operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Associates must be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates.
- Assist in all aspects of the properties’ audio-visual program, including the ability to design, install and operate audio, video, or lighting equipment in temporary live event environment.
- Assist in working with the sales team and clients to create inspiring environments through audio visual production.
- Attend occasional meetings/conference calls (including hotel Banquet Event Order Meetings) required for an event to ensure all details are captured.
- Must have the ability to work across a variety of event formats from breakouts, general sessions, tradeshows, and social events.
- Responsible for assisting and enforcing audio-visual quality and safety controls.
- Responsible for assisting in the set-up, operation, and tear down of all types of audio-visual equipment, including rigging and lighting.
- Maintain timeline for production to ensure event planning stays on schedule.
- Assist the AV manager in completing required inventories and maintain audio-visual equipment.
- Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
- Work with the Event leadership and keep them informed of issues as they arise.
- Communicate on-site changes from client to event team.
- Ability to trouble-shoot Crestron, internal AV, lighting program, and assist with Bright Sign troubleshooting.
- Ability to assist in trouble shooting.
- Must have a general knowledge of Apple products and apps to produce AV.
- Assist in monitoring all phases of Loss Prevention in the AV department.
- Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and procedures within the AV department and the properties.
- Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during service.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
