We are currently looking for a full-time Data Analyst. The Data Analyst Works integrally with IT teams and end users to provide extraction and analysis of data from various administrative applications for the use in reporting dashboards and other information distribution applications. Provides internal support for creating, updating, and maintaining databases for operations applications as well as providing end user support for computer programs and application software.
Responsibilities of the position include:
  • Provides user assistance to questions relating to the functional use or problems associated with application software systems.
  • Learns and understands the automated processes of the business applications currently in use.
  • Interfaces with third party vendors on releases, enhancements and effects.
  • Investigates and resolves complex technical and business issues.
  • Gathers and analyzes user requirements; identifies risks, changes in data processing and business processes.
  • Creates data sets to analyze and recreate customer issues.
  • Uses fact-finding procedures, knowledge of pertinent workflows and processes, programming practices, and data extraction techniques to provide required analyses of business problems.
  • Perform analysis and investigation of identified anomalies in production application data.
  • Develop programs, methodologies and reports for analyzing and presenting data from multiple sources.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business process related to the campus and corporate operations.
  • Provide programming interfaces for data extracts and support for production applications.
  • Ability to develop and/or modify systems and programs to meet specific application configurations.
  • Plan, design, coordinate, test and modify complex software based systems and subsystems.
  • Plan, design, coordinate, test, and modify dashboards and other methods of information distribution.
  • Maintain software application system configuration files for correct and effective operations.
  • Validate data for reports and other distributed information.
  • Document and track computer generated work orders for assisting users and their requests.
  • Develop skills though continuous training and self-education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements of the position include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Three years related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Experience in data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Experience with creating SSRS files.
  • Knowledge of our Student Information System (Anthology Nexus) is preferred but not required.
  • MS SQL skills including the development of complex queries and stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of various program languages and scripting needed for working with databases.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports preferred.
  • Knowledge of Data Mining and Statistical Analysis desired.
  • Proficient knowledge of functions of the business software.
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail when working for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and external vendors.
