Stewart/Perry is an employee-centered construction company offering general contracting and construction management services, building mostly in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. We are currently seeking an assistant estimator to join our team in the main office in Birmingham.
While we often build large-scale projects, there are many ways we still operate like a smaller shop. Our senior estimators offer shadowing opportunities to the junior team, creating opportunities to learn and advance at Stewart/Perry. While experience is a plus, we are seeking someone who is focused, meticulous, and has a can-do attitude.
Characteristics of a Stewart/Perry Assistant Estimator:
Maintains the Stewart/Perry brand and excellent relationships with subcontractors
Is task and deadline-oriented, completing a list of assigned tasks in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding goals.
Communicates well with the estimating team, providing frequent status updates
Daily Duties:
Manage drawings in both electronic and hard copy.
Solicit subcontractors and suppliers through phone and email, providing qualified bidders in each trade.
Research general construction costs for each project, including city business license, building permits, tap & meter fees
Post jobs in solicitation software, find applicable subs and launch project for bid
Send notices, reminders and drawing updates; upload and manage revisions
Perform take-offs in some trades.
Qualifications:

The salary range listed includes additional compensation that an employee is eligible for after their first year.
