Job Description:
The Director of Health Services (DHS) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of care and services provided to our residents. They plan, coordinate, and manage the care services in accordance with policies, standards of nursing practices and state regulations. We are seeking a warm, caring, and professional individual that cares about doing the right thing each day for the residents and staff. The DHS supervises and coaches our team of Medication Technicians, and reports to the Health Services Administrator.
Responsibilities:

• Performs all responsibilities related to RN delegation of nursing tasks
• Conducts continuing education and training for health services employees and other employees as necessary
• Assists with initial screening of residents or delegates appropriately
• Monitors physician orders/laboratory results and assures correct implementation
• Monitors alert charting, especially to assure appropriate employee response to issues and to determine need for RN assessment
• Monitors and addresses consulting pharmacy reports
• Monitors resident incident reports
• Advises health services employees concerning resident health issues, by telephone if not in facility
• Assesses residents as necessary, addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual issues
• Assists in development of service plans, assuring health service issues, as well as other service issues that potentially impact upon health, effectively addressed
• Attends service plan meetings as necessary
• Assures compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to health services
• Performs all new resident assessments
