Overview

The Spence School seeks a dynamic, passionate, growth-oriented Grade 3 teacher to join our innovative and highly collaborative Lower School. This position represents an exciting opportunity to join a school engaged in the ongoing refinement of a nurturing and rigorous approach to teaching and learning whose foundation is the abiding belief that all children are curious and able learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach all disciplines related to the homeroom curriculum

• Collaborate in teaching teams to design curriculum, assessments, and teaching methods

• Mentor and partner with an associate teacher

• Participate in department and division-wide initiatives about issues of equity, pedagogy, curriculum and citizenship

• Engage with parents about individual children and grade wide curriculum

• Possesses Masters degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education

• Has sustained teaching experience
