Job Summary :
The Specialty Companies is seeking a skilled and experienced Offset Press Operator to join our team in Portsmouth, Virginia.
This is a part-time, position for an individual contributor, with a rate of $19 to $21 per hour paid biweekly.
We are looking for a team player who works well with others and wants to contribute to a positive, growing company.
Responsibilities :
- Set up and operate offset printing presses according to job specifications and deadlines
- Monitor and adjust press settings to ensure high-quality production of printed materials
- Mix and prepare ink for use in printing presses
- Troubleshoot and solve any technical issues that may arise during the printing process
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on presses
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth and timely production
- Meet production quotas and deadlines while maintaining high levels of quality
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating offset printing presses
- Knowledge of offset press operations, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Must possess strong attention to detail and have a keen eye for quality control
- Ability to operate various types of printing equipment, including 2- and 4-color presses
- Familiarity with different types of printing materials and inks
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
