The South Suburban Council is Hiring a Temporary Accounts Receivable Specialist Near Hazel, IL

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process efficiently and accurately. This temporary position is ideal for individuals with strong numerical and communication skills, who thrive in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Invoice Processing: Generate and process invoices accurately and timely for products/services rendered to clients.
2. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
3. Payment Processing: Monitor incoming payments, allocate payments to appropriate customer accounts, and follow up on overdue accounts.
4. Customer Communication: Communicate with customers regarding payment status, discrepancies, and payment methods in a professional and courteous manner.
5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of customer transactions, payments, and outstanding balances.
6. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging reports, and cash flow projections for management review.
7. Collections: Implement collection procedures for overdue accounts, send reminders, and escalate to senior management if necessary.
8. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues related to accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective customer interaction.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues with customers diplomatically.
Duration:
This is a temporary position with an expected duration of : 3 months, 6 months. The possibility of extension or permanent employment will be based on performance and business needs.
