The Secret Garden Landscape is Hiring a Landscape Foreman Near Mequon, WI

LANDSCAPE FOREMAN 
The Landscape Foreman is required to possess 2-5 years of experience in landscaping, with a particular emphasis on natural stone projects. They should also have a proven track record in leading teams. Our projects involve the construction of patios, walkways, fire pits, water features, and retaining walls, alongside some softscaping tasks such as planting. It is important to note that our focus is solely on natural stone; we do not engage in projects that involve cement.
SALARY:
Level 1 starts at $25.50 (2-years minimum experience) Level 2 starts at $26.50 (3-years' experience), and Level 3 starts at 28.50 (5-years' experience)
KEY JOB DUTIES: 
  • Perform all functions to install gardens and hardscapes. Includes: Job setup and layout; installing patios, walks, retaining walls; rough and finish grading; drain tile installation; planting bed prep and plantings; seed or sod installation; site organization and clean up.
  • Be a positive role model for your crew and other crews.
  • Available to work a varied schedule (including Saturdays during the busy season).
  • Complete the daily job report and turn in to supervisor at the end of the day. 
  • Accurately complete timecards, including client names. 
  • Assist in upselling and cross selling to existing clients; make suggestions to supervisor and clients. 
  • Ensure quality of your crew’s work. 
  • Responsible for ensuring safety of the client, job site, and fellow employees. 
  • Lay out plant material and soil amendments for crew installation. 
  • Perform work safely in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with management and customers. 
  • Understand the contractual obligations for each job site and direct the work of the crew accordingly.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by supervisor or owner. 
  • Adapt to work assignment changes. 
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, including skid loaders, trucks, power and hand tools.
  • Responsible for locking tool trailers at the end of the workday and securing any equipment/material on your worksites to prevent potential theft. This Includes keeping all handheld power equipment in trailer cabled and locked together in trailer. 
  • Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper and safe operation. 
  • Goal of completing jobs within budget. 
  • Able to lift and carry 80 pounds of weight frequently throughout the workday.
  • Knowledge of landscape construction techniques, methods, and applications. 
  • Proficient in the use of skid loaders with all attachments, and mini excavator. 
  • Ability to read and correctly scale from a landscape plan. 
  • Attend 8 hours of continuing education per year (seminars, classes, etc.). Time and fees paid. 
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL: 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job requires strenuous physical activity while performing technical work.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. Be able to reach overhead with hands and fingers.
  • Possess excellent hand-eye, and gross motor coordination. Must be able to hear and see with corrected vision.
  • Work in various positions, including, but not limited to, walking, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, carry, pull, and push materials and equipment. 
  • Use and climb ladders.
  • Wear common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection. 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions that may be extremely hot or extremely cold. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and sharp objects. The employee may be exposed to moderate air pollution, moderate vibration, and ground where the possibility of falling exists. The employee may also be exposed to allergens, dust, pollen, poison ivy, insects, including bees, and other potentially harmful naturally occurring hazards.
