What you'll be doing in this role.
The Recreation Attendant works to achieve the objectives in guest relations, and satisfaction, service quality, cleanliness, and sanitation of the property. Recreation is often referred to as the department of FUN! We help maintain the look of the Pools, Fitness Centers, run the Beach Operation, and all on property activities. Must be willing to work outdoors.
Guest-Facing Service Management
- Provide warm, humble, and knowledgeable service throughout the property
- Liaise with restaurant and outlet operations staff to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Assist with the curation of the guest’s experience both on and off property
- Attend daily briefings and relevant departmental meetings
Employee Relations
- Assist in creating a culture that encourages our staff to grow
- Support service teams
- Prepare all required paperwork including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner
General/Miscellaneous
- Ensure in quality of guest experience, service, operational effectiveness, employee retention, and satisfaction
- Ensure consistent, thorough, and timely communication to peers, managers, guests, and vendors
- Continually strive to provide opportunities to advance the education and development of staff as it relates to food, wine, and service
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations/ordinances that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the farm/restaurant/inn, its employees, and its guests
- All other duties as assigned by manager
Pool Attendant
· Responsible for opening, and closing the pool
· Cabana/daybed setups and checking in guests for their reservations
· Cleanliness of pool area and help pick up used dishware from Shelter Club
· Restocking of towels and dropping dirty towels in laundry
· Sweeping and cleaning of pool deck
· Check guests in for cabana and daybed reservations
· Knowledge about outlets on property including restaurants / offerings in the area
· Accommodate the guests needs – extra towels, sunblock, water, lost and found etc.
· Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of each fitness center
Beach Attendant
· Help guests with their beach rentals, such as towels, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, beach cabana, fire pit rentals
· Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces (sand) and stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to carry heavier items such as chairs, umbrellas, fire pit etc.
· Beach team is lively and able to answer questions not only for hotel guests, but also locals passing by
· Using point-of-sale terminals to sell items at The Beach Rambler
· Take inventory of items at Beach Rambler
· Can drive the golf cart if applicable
· Responsible for restocking Beach Rambler’s needs – towels, snacks, drinks from the hotel, down to the Beach.
Activities
· Help run resort activities such as Craft Hour, Build a Stuffed Animal, Paint and Sip, Holiday Activations, Kite Flying, Sand Castle Building
· Additionally Attendants can also help with group recreation events such as Beach Olympics, Oceanside Scavenger Hunts, Guac Off’s and more!

- 2 years of related service experience in a similar atmosphere

- Proficient in using iphone/ipad and point of sale systems

· Must be available hours of operation for specific department/outlet: Between the hours of 8am-11pm, 365 days a year. Hours may fluctuate during peak season and off season.
· Availability to work on Holidays
ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift, carry up and push to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to walk on sand numerous times a day
- Ability to drive golf cart
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
