The Sanneh Foundation is Hiring a Volunteer and Events Manager Near Saint Paul, MN

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Volunteer and Events Manager plans, organizes and implements specific events for fundraising and public relations purposes. This individual cultivates new and existing corporate relationships to secure event sponsorship and in-kind donations. May supervise event staff and volunteer with the event planning committee. 

REPORTS TO: Director of Development 

SUPERVISES: May supervise event staff

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Events and Volunteer Management 
  • Scouts volunteer acquisition opportunities at community events. 
  • Serves as an ambassador for the Foundation by participating in volunteer acquisition tabling events. 
  • Supports Volunteer Coordinator to create and manage an on-boarding program for volunteers.
  • Supports Volunteer Coordinator training for volunteers, as needed.
  • Project manages all fundraising events including two major fundraising initiatives; Gala4Goals and Golf4Goals.
  • Serves as liaison with corporate sponsors, potential donors, and event management personnel.
  • Creates volunteer appreciation events with Volunteer Coordinator, including managing a -pre-approved budget. 
  • Supports Volunteer Coordinator to ensure CRM is updated and accurate and ensuring documentation of screening practices.
  • Monitors volunteer, staff and client satisfaction.
  • Leads and manages Community Events.
  • Example: Annual Conway Halloween Party
  • 6-12 events per year on average
  • Provides assistance and leadership for other foundation events (including but not limited to) the summer Golf event or the Annual Gala.
  • Leads, manages or supports any event or volunteer activities at Conway Park & Community Center or other satellite site(s), as directed.
  • Participates as needed in special department projects.
  • Provides assistance as needed with research for resources and/or services for event execution. 
  • Provides support to VP of External Affairs and Community Partnerships for administrative office duties related to fundraising and events.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Fundraising, Event/Sports Management, Education, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a closely-related field. 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of work or volunteer experience demonstrating required skills.
  • History of active involvement with volunteer programs or organizations.
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain positive relationships and service.
  • Computer and technological skills including Microsoft Office Programs.

  • Learn and adapt quickly, balance and prioritize multiple tasks, produce highly-detailed work on a continuous basis and contribute to the team while completing work independently. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule by traveling to multiple event locations and attendance at evening and weekend events, meetings and training as needed.
  • Availability of personal transportation required with valid driver's license and continuous insurance coverage.
  • Be able to build relationship with donors, volunteers, and partners.
  • Adhere to and demonstrate the Sanneh Foundation values.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and Google Doc.
