Job Summary
Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
Plans, organizes, and implements a range of program services and activities for drop in members and visitors; provides periodic activity reports.
Promotes and stimulates program participation; register new members and participates in their club orientation process.
Participates in weekly branch staff meetings.
Promotes safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the branch at all times.
Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Center facilities and grounds.
Completes and submits daily statistics form in an accurate and timely manner.
May participate in special programs and / or events.
May drive Salvation Army vehicle to transport people to / from location.
Knowledge of the standard rules and techniques of athletic sports such as baseball, basketball, and football.
Education and Experience
High school Diploma or , AND 6 months experience coaching and supervising athletic events and experience maintaining grounds,
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, & abilities.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Ability to build effective and positive relationships with people of all ages.
Ability to lead and motivate people participating in recreational activities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
