About this opportunity :

• Prepares, processes and maintains various sales records, tax forms, and social service vouchers, prepares routing sales reports as directed.
• Maintains the neatness and security of the cash register area, ensures that forms, bags, ect., are adequately stocked.
• Assists customers by explaining store policy and responding to questions regarding the pricing and purchasing of items;

ensures that all customers visiting the store have a pleasant experience.

Assists customers donating items to The Salvation Army; directs customers to the proper loading / unloading area to help haul donations to the storage area;

prepares and provides tax receipts as needed.

Answers the store telephone tactfully and courteously; assists customers by responding to questions and providing directions and general information;

may schedule and record donation pick-ups.

Education and Experience :

• High School and six months experience working in a retail store preferred.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
• Ability to operate a cash register
• Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change.
• Work requires the ability to lift and carry and / or push-pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment.

Light mobility : duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.
