Position Summary

The Salvation Army Northern Division Grand Forks Corps Maintenance Custodian is responsible for performing cleaning, minor maintenance, and grounds keeping.

1600 University Ave, Grand Forks, ND 58203

• Perform custodial duties to maintain clean, tidy, and sanitary conditions throughout the building. (70%)
• Load and unload food / donation deliveries. (10%)
• Maintain vehicle fleet, including cleaning and scheduling maintenance. (5%)
• Perform minor repair work to maintain safety and within scope of training / regulations. (5%)
• Assist with special / seasonal events, including room set up, etc. (5%)
• Maintain grounds, including snow / ice removal. (5%)

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of custodial experience.
• Pass background checks.
• A valid driver’s license and meeting MVR requirements preferred.

Competencies

• Working knowledge of safe handling of equipment, chemicals, and materials regularly used in basic maintenance and custodial duties.
• Ability to perform some or all physical tasks including lifting, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, and other custodial duties.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and databases

Working Conditions

• Regular physical work including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking, and standing.
• Must be able to regularly lift 50 pound and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
• Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues.
