The Salvation Army is Hiring a Housekeeper - Summer Day Camp Near Louisville, KY
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a summer day camp Housekeeper for the Louisville South Corps in Louisville, Kentucky. The weekly work schedule is 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays. Job Summary Performs various housekeeping duties for a c& cleans restrooms, offices, and other camp facilities; washes, stores, and distributes linens; ensures the neatness and cleanliness of the camp facilities daily. Participates as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions and have the physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid; Must assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance needed to maintain constant supervision of campers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to perform general cleaning activities for buildings. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Knowledge of effective cleaning and sanitizing practices as well as proper safety precautions. Ability to maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies. Ability to communicate effectively with campers and camp staff. Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff. Ability to observe camper and staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply proper behavior-management techniques. Ability to visually and the auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity. Ability to work with children outdoors in various conditions. Ability to observe children and youth and ensure their safety. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform housekeeping and minor maintenance work. Knowledge of First Aid and CPR practices and ability to ensure children's safety. Education and Experience A High School Degree is required, And One year of experience working with children in a summer program environment. Licenses and Certifications CPR and First Aid Certification Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or pull/push moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid; Must assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance needed to maintain constant supervision of campers.
