The Salvation Army is Hiring a Director Of Operations (Center of Hope) Near Beach, FL

Location: Director of Operations/Center of Hope/WPB, Florida
Position Type: Regular – Full Time (Exempt)
Pay Range: $78,044 annually.
About this opportunity:Key responsibilities:
Supervises the administration of the Center of Hope campus, to include emergency shelters; transitional living shelters; develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures.
Directs, coordinates, monitors, analyzes facility risks and crisis/disaster management programs; coordinates with EDS Coordinator and leadership team to ensure that incidents/problems are identified and considered in the development of a crisis response plan. Reviews emergency plans annually, ensuring facility evacuation plans have current personnel information & employees are trained in emergency procedures.
Supervises, plans, assigns, coordinates and monitors the day-to-day operations of all COH support staff (Resident Monitors/Security Staff, Maintenance/Custodian staff, Kitchen staff); instructs and trains support staff; plans, schedules, conducts, and participates in Director’s meetings to discuss issues, priorities, practices; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations (i.e., public safety, maintenance standards, OSHA, Health Department, Code enforcement, DCF, departmental manuals, etc.);
Ensures that the department complies with contract requirements and consults with HR regarding employment fair labor law requirements.
Ensures that adequate numbers of employees are available and assigned to each duty shift. Reviews daily shift activity reports submitted by shift monitors. Remains available 24 hours/day for on-call situations.
Conducts performance evaluations and provides hiring/firing and salary recommendations. Provides constructive and positive feedback to employees to improve productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Recommends staff disciplinary actions to HR.
What we are looking for in you:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
and
three years’ experience leading and managing related functions for a similarly sized operation and a demonstrated personal commitment to continuing education and improvement.
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Ability to perform mathematical computations.
Ability to perform public speaking.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
