The Salvation Army is Hiring a Child Care Worker (Part-Time) Near Saint Petersburg, FL

Location: The Salvation Army Sallie House, St Petersburg, FL 33713

Position Type: Regular Part-Time, Saturday and Sunday 3pm-11pm ET

Pay Range: $14.50/hr

About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for providing childcare services for adolescents including personal care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, and specialized programs.

Key responsibilities:

· Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.

· Implements age-appropriate activity and development plans utilizing discovery areas and hands-on activities.

· Observes the needs and progress of the children, communicates with Lead/Case Manager providing input and documentation on the physical, emotional, social, and academic needs of the individual children.

What we are looking for in you:

· High school diploma or G.E.D. AND

· Two years’ Childcare experience

· Knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development.

· Knowledge of First Aid and C.P.R and ability to ensure the safety of children.

Candidate must pass Local Law Enforcement, State of Florida Dept. of Children and Families (DCF) and FBI background screenings.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where changes in weather and discomforts associated with outdoor activities may occur.

Duties are performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
