Location: 900 W Adams St Jacksonville, FL 32204Position Type: Regular Full-Time, Pay Range: $12.00 - $14.88/ Hour.About this opportunity:Provide overall coordination of all Food Pantry services. This involves obtaining, receiving, organizing and distributing supplies of food and other items, assessing client needs and maintaining records and reports of services provided.Key responsibilities:Meets with clients; reviews applications and checks files to determine clients’ eligibility to receive assistance.Provides referrals to clients not eligible to receive assistance.Prepares food bags according to the number of family members.Prepares and maintains statistical records representing the amount and type of services provided.Coordinates the retrieval, storage, and distribution of food and commodities for the program.Monitors expiration dates on all food in the pantry; discards outdated or damaged food.Receives and processes donated food items.Picks up needed food items from the Second Harvest Food BankRecruits, trains, and supervises volunteers.Determines the appropriate amount of food to order for the program; maintain and organize an adequate inventory of food and supplies for the Food Program; ensure the supply meets the needs of the program.Ensures compliance with all USDA guidelines and regulations.Loads and unloads trucks. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists in setting up tables for special functions.Assists in sorting and distributing donated items.Coordinates in conjunction with Social Services Supervisor, intake and distribution of goods for seasonal events such as Stuff the Bus, Thanksgiving baskets, Angel Tree applications, and Toy Shop.Performs other related work as required. What we are looking for in you: High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year experience coordinating social service projects. or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
