The Salvation Army - Northern New England Division is Hiring a Finance Specialist (In Person, ENTRY LEVEL ENCOURAGED!) Near Portland, ME

Summary:

The Finance Specialist must use considerable discretion, judgment, and follow all Salvation Army policies, procedures, regulations and Minutes. The individual must be able to relieve multiple members of the department of Finance with attention to the Administrative details.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Serves as lead (SBA designate) to pick up DHQ mail from Post Office, and open and distribute the mail in

full accordance with Policies and Procedures Minute # 2;

· Production of weekly Command Finance Council agenda and subsequent minutes;

· Coordination and distribution of centralized accounting packets for processing;

· Review/Approve Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Deposits, 1201s, and Journals entered into Serenic;

· Assists in the preparation of reports as requested;

· Assist communications between Corps and Finance Department, referring as needed to other departments

or individuals (as instructed);

· Maintains all Finance Department files for Finance and for the DFD

· Requests, logs, and maintains all reports from reporting units (i.e. inventories);

· Other tasks as assigned by the Divisional Finance Director;

Education

Two years college or technical school and/or two to three years of related experience, preferably a junior in college in a business degree program.

This a part time position at approximately 28 hours per week.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
