The Salvation Army Eastern Territory is Hiring a Development Volunteer Relations & Engagement Specialist Near Columbus, OH

Overview

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 40 hours per week, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekend days (primarily related to campaigns and events).

Salary: $21.50 - 23.00 per hour a fantastic benefit package*

Job Focus: The Volunteer Relations Specialist is responsible for increasing volunteerism for The Salvation Army in Central Ohio through active recruitment and engagement with current and prospective volunteers and organizations. Volunteer needs of the corps, programs, and events should be constantly evaluated. Of specific importance is the recruitment of volunteers for the Kettle Campaign.

Qualifications

  • Must embrace, support and reflect well on The Salvation Army’s Mission and values.
  • Experience working with volunteer recruitment preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Able to work independently in a complex environment, managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals as well as meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Excellent organization skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s license and the ability obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.
