OVERVIEW
Provides overall direction for Product marketing within the specified product category. Includes research, development, planning and execution of the strategic marketing direction for the category. Management of individual brand(s) within the product category. Development of new products and associated launch plan, pricing, promotions, communications, expense budgeting, sales support, and various internal/external projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute on Annual Marketing plan for the Category
• Team Leader for the Integrated Category Team (ICT) meetings
• Manage product sales and profitability for category
• Management of operating expenses within the category
• New Product Development process coordination with R&D
• Manages development priorities for each product within the category once set by the Category Team
• Reviews and analyzes product proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures.
• Completes basis of interest to begin LCM for new product concepts
• Work within team to complete for each product offered; MSRP, part #s, marketing and technical specs
• Manages all aspects of new product launches
• New market opportunity identification
• Rationalization of products within category as part of lifecycle management process
• Train sales, customer service and technical specialists on new product lines as well as continuing education training
• Provide input on product pricing and programs structure
• Understand and work with team on solutions to Late orders/backlogs
• Sourcing coordination with key suppliers
• Liaisons with Quality Department on product manufacturing issues
• Gathering of competitive intel / strong knowledge of competitors products
• Management of category marketing team to ensure products features and benefits / technical info is accurately reflected in all creative. Ensure budget and development of sales tools/aids for Category
• Attend trade shows and other industry activities as warranted
• Write specs, features and benefits for products within the Category May supervise others

QUALIFICATIONS

• Seven to ten years related experience.
• Bachelors Degree, desire MBA in Marketing or related fields
• Must have excellent communication (verbal/written) skills;
• Quantitative and analysis skills; project management skills;
• Ability to work well with minimum supervision;
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, and be relied upon to interface and contribute to the leadership team when necessary.
• 50% travel required
