Outside the Lines is a small, home-based school with a focus on community, autonomy, and play. The school is set in a residential house with the front yard converted into a class garden and the back yard converted into a play wonderland. Our slow-paced, wide open schedule creates long blocks of time in which children construct deep play experiences. We spend a lot of time outside in all San Diego seasons, so be prepared to embrace the weather (such as it is) and play in the dirt!

Requirements:

- Experience working with children OR enthusiasm to learn
- EMSA Pediatric First Aid, CPR, AED certification
- CA Mandated Reporter training
- Current TB skin test or signed clearance
- Vaccinations, current: MMR, TDaP, Flu, Covid

Duties:

- Creating wonderful play experiences tailored to the children's real interests
- Willingness to sit back and let children take the lead, even during hard moments like conflict
- Openness to calculated risk taking play
- Keeping the play space reasonably orderly
- Taking pictures and writing daily posts for each child on our photo sharing platform, Storypark
- Cooking, gardening, and thrift store scouring all optional duties, if interested

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
