KINDER MISSION Preschool in San Diego is Hiring!

We are looking for a Full-time Preschool Teacher for our 3-3.5 year old classroom.

Position available: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

KINDER MISSION aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment by engaging your children in creative playtime and meaningful learning activities. Our caring and professional teachers encourage your children to explore their world by teaching them German, Spanish, and English. We nurture and inspire your children, emphasizing art, music, dance, and gardening to maximize individual growth and potential.

Hourly Payment: Teachers $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

Teacher Student Ratio: 1:7

We are a year-round school and are closed for all the federal holidays; seven of those holidays are paid for. In addition, KMP is closed the day after Thanksgiving and for a Winter break from the 23rd of December – to the 3rd of January and one week in Spring and one in Summer. Kinder Mission offers a 401K; for every 30 hours worked, you earn one accrued hour for sick or personal leave.

We are most interested in talking to applicants who have the following:

  • 12 ECE Units required (Human Growth and Development, The Child Family and Community, and Program Curriculum)
  • Six months of teaching experience
  • 15 hours course of Health and Safety training
  • CPR/First Aid certified and TB Test
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Additional Languages preferred: Spanish and German
  • Interest in Music preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material
  • Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises
  • Provide primary care and caregiving activities
  • Use various teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing, etc.) to enhance the child’s abilities.
  • Evaluate children’s performance to make sure they are on the right learning track
  • Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children
  • Observe children’s interactions and promote the spirit of concord
  • Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
  • Collaborate with other colleagues
  • Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources
