A Camp Counselor is responsible forimplementing core and non-core programs and experiences for children in a smalland large group setting. They will also be responsible for the general safetyand development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/hergroup. The incumbent will provide high quality outdoor educational andrecreational experiences for participants that focus on The Riviera Club corevalues of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

EssentialResponsibilities:

• Following the schedule and guidelines given byyour lead counselor.
• Being able to work as a team player
• Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
• Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized,and free of litter.
• Know and understand ALL emergency proceduresassociated with the camp program.
• Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelinesassociated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is notlimited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and their whereabouts atall times.
• If applicable, maintain constant surveillance ofthe pool area/body of water, know/review all emergency procedures and respondto emergency situations immediately.

 Requirements:

• Must be 15 years or older
• Must have education classes or experience incamp, youth programs, recreation, or working with children.
• First aid and CPR certified.

Work Conditions:

• Must have the physical ability to help andparticipate in camp activities which include, but are not limited to, swimming,team building initiatives, physical games, and activities.
• Perform essential program support to campactivities and programs which may include, but not limited to the followingactivities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling,shoveling, working in narrow and/or confining spaces underground, overhead, andat ground level, twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs, and lying onstomach and/or back.
• Must have the ability to physically manage andsupport children when needed for safety in general camp activities (childweighing 50 - 200 pounds).
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks outdoor indifferent climates.
