The Riley Center is a small business in Indianapolis, IN. We are professional, agile, supportive and our goal is to Founded in 2019, the mission of The Riley Center (TRC) is to create youth who will inspire positive change in our community for this world. We provide out-of-school time programming for youth ages five and up in Pike and Washington townships in Indianapolis. TRC offers multiple services to empower youth to move from a place of misunderstanding to exercising their power to become whom they want to be. Our programs teach reading, writing, math, science, creative expression, team building, and physical wellness. In addition, we provide programs that support strategic thinking and social and emotional skills. .

We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors at the Riley Youth Community Center. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a fun and safe environment for children to learn and grow. If you have a passion for working with children and enjoy fun activities, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with campers during daily activities and outings
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and recreational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times
- Assist with meal times, including serving food and monitoring dietary restrictions
- Provide guidance and support to campers in their personal growth and development
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create a positive and inclusive camp experience
- Maintain accurate records of camper attendance, incidents, and behavior
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in a formal or informal setting (e.g., childcare, babysitting, tutoring)
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle conflict resolution among campers
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques is a plus
- Sports coaching or theater experience is highly desirable
- Must be at least 18 years old
