The Philadelphia Housing Authority is Hiring a CNI Outreach Coordinator Near Philadelphia, PA

Marketing Statement

Under basic supervision of the Choice Neighborhood Initiatives Manager, provides promotional support services to the Resident Programs and Partnerships Department of the Philadelphia Housing Authority. Specifically; develop, market and enhance the PHA’s relationships in the community while assessing community capacity and competence to support residents in the Sharswood and North Central Choice Neighborhoods. Represent the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Resident Programs & Partnership department at community meetings in the focus area, and serve as a link between other organizations and the Choice Neighborhood Initiatives unit. Assist with data collection, communications, and resource sharing and insuring community input into plans for improvement activities and overcoming barriers for resident achievement. Other activities as Manager deems appropriate. This position will be critical in helping meet these goals through planning, coordination and implementation of projects in partnership with our target community.

This position is coterminous with the 5-year CNI grant term that ends in April of 2026.

Salary: $38,800-$46,500.

Qualifications

Minimum education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required; and or a combination of equivalent years of experience and education

Minimum experience

2 years of related experience working with volunteers, and or community outreach activities.

Preferred education and experience

B.A. Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Equivalent experienced required

Certifications, Licenses required

  • Requires possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License.

Work is performed in a standard office environment, and at various sites throughout the city. Incumbent is required to travel, while transporting promotional materials

Responsibilities

Essential functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Creates and reproduces promotional materials, such as flyers, posters, notices, and announcements, to generate resident awareness of a variety of coordinator initiatives;
  • Ensures enough copies of required promotional materials are generated; displays, delivers, and/or hands out at sites and developments;
  • Coordinates mass mailings throughout the department
  • Provides tours of the Vaux Community Building/EnVision Center
  • Build relationships and partner with residents, local agencies, and community stakeholders to assist Program Coordinators with case management and support for resident
  • Identify community projects and plan and execute projects for successful completion (Community meetings, job and/or health fairs etc.)
  • Regularly attend meetings relevant to supporting CNI programs or partners, health and social service meetings, and resident meetings.
  • Build understanding of and support for CNI by collaborating with staff from other departments
  • Serve as the liaison to other community groups identified by the CNI Manager and/or work plan.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and on top of social media trends for outreach efforts

  • PHA organization, operations, policies and procedures; HR Manual and Employee Handbook.
  • HUD Regulations; Standard Operating Procedures
