Accounting Controller

Job Purpose

The Senior Accounting Manager will be a member of the Osthoff Management Corporation (OMC) and Osthoff Condominium Association (OCA) Accounting Team. Duties will include monthly financial reporting, payroll oversight, maintaining general ledger integrity, managing process flows from related software applications, sales tax reporting, and ad hoc projects assigned by the CFO. You will work closely with our various outlets to manage data flow into the Accounting Software package.

The Senior Accounting Manager will be an important member of the finance team, working closely with the CFO, F&B Director, and IT functions to deliver transparent, meaningful, and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders. This position will own the internal ERP package and related software that communicates with it. They will lead up the planned upcoming ERP conversion to Microsoft Business Central. Also,

Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain integrity of the trial balance through work paper documentation and overseeing the maintenance of our internal Accounting Records.

· Driving finance and accounting efficiencies though improving processes, organizational capabilities and internal controls

· Proactively working to identify, assess and manage data flow into the ERP system.

· Collaboratively partnering with the CFO and other members of senior management to proactively understand Company performance and potential transaction structuring.

· Ensuring maintenance of appropriate internal controls and application of appropriate accounting principles (GAAP and IFRS)

· Assist with the annual external audits.

· Collaborating with senior finance team to develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the Organization’s operations and business plans.

· Representing the Company to financial partners, including auditors, etc.

· Remaining up to date on best practices and applicable laws and regulations

· Coach, lead, and develop others within the property, on how their own role flows into the financial statements and how that affects the overall goals of the property.

· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Education: BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting.

· CPA preferred (or working toward).

· Solutions-oriented with the ability to assess “top down and bottoms up” perspectives.

· A self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· The ability to think “outside the box” and make clear and well-reasoned decisions.

· Excellent maturity and judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment.

· Exceptionally goal-oriented with the ability to design and instill sustainable controls and audit mechanisms to ensure the accuracy of the output of the accounting team.

· Highly analytical, rapidly and accurately distill complex information and communicate the information through a concise and readily understandable message to non-financial positions.

· Forward thinking, with excellent conceptual skills. Able to distill varying economic trends and information, see the big picture, and articulate a message for future direction.

· Unquestionable ethics and integrity and commitment to excellence.

Working Conditions

Working conditions vary based on business needs. Environment can be fast paced, and Associate will need to be able to manage multiple projects at one time and see them from start to finish. Associate will also be expected to help and lead other Osthoff Associates on various projects and initiatives.
