Senior Structural Engineer | Project Manager Pittsburgh

Osborn Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager with 10 - 15 years of experiences for our Pittsburgh office location who will report tothe Director of Structural Engineering. The ideal candidate would have project team and client management experience in a consulting engineering environment working with private and public sector clients is preferred. 

Position Responsibilities

• Project and Client management.
• Prepare proposals and administer project contracts, including Add Service Agreements.
• Work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan.
• Supervise staff or self-Perform the following:
  • Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
  • Preparation of structural integrity and assessment reports.
  • Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
  • Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
  • Coordination with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
  • Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
• Review designs prepared by others as part of Osborn’s QA/QC process. 
• Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require. 
• Conduct business development activities, participating in various trade organizations, and preparing or assisting with presentations.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• 10 - 15 years of Structural Design Experience/Project Management in Consulting Engineering.
• Ability to work and manage several project teams concurrently.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as REVIT, RISA 3D, RISA Floor, ADAPT.
• Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
• Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
• Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering Preferred.
• PE or SE License preferred.
