POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for patient care under the direction and plan of an Occupational Therapist. Supervises and aids in direct patient care and other activities as needed. This a 30 hour work week position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides occupational therapy treatment according to an established treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
- Provides effective communication with patients, family members, referring physicians, and the therapy treatment team.
- Provides timely written documentation, treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries per facility and department requirements.
- Maintains patient records confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Prepares and submits patient charges accurately to provide appropriate billing information to be reviewed and signed off by supervising therapist.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Assistant license or license eligible.
- Outpatient experience preferred, not required.
- CPR certification is required.
