About TAG’s Threat Intelligence Department and AdSec Threat Exchange

As the digital advertising industry’s DHS-designated Information Sharing & Analysis Organization (ISAO), TAG's Advertising Security (AdSec) threat-sharing programs facilitate intelligence sharing within the digital advertising ecosystem and require companies to meet rigorous standards for identifying and mitigating criminal exploitation of their supply chains. About You

About the Role

As TAG’s VP of Threat Intelligence, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. You are a subject matter expert responsible for developing actionable intelligence on emerging threats and facilitating sharing through the AdSec Threat Exchange. You will think like our adversaries as you build and manage a team that collects information from various internal and external sources and uses it to develop actionable intelligence that assesses and contextualizes threat actors and their tools, techniques, and procedures. You will lead the AdSec Threat Exchange and assist its members in leveraging intelligence to identify and mitigate malicious activity proactively. You are skilled at coalition building and will lead TAG’s joint operations with public sector partners in government intelligence, law enforcement, and cybersecurity. You will be able to grow professionally and expand your responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management of TAG’s threat intelligence department, which includes analytic production, intelligence management, global threat-sharing partnerships, and TAG AdSec Threat Exchange.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with the executive leadership of TAG member companies' threat intelligence, fraud, anti-piracy, and anti-malvertising teams and key contacts within the intelligence community, law enforcement, and our ISAO/ISAC partners.
  • Recruit new AdSec Threat Exchange members. Develop and manage the implementation of product roadmaps and operating plans. Ensure achievement of growth and revenue objectives.
  • Support TAG members in strengthening their defensive cybersecurity capabilities by conducting investigations and analyses relevant to the TAG AdSec Threat Exchange and securing the digital advertising supply chain.
  • Oversee TAG AdSec Threat Exchange support of TAG member companies during incident response, including malware outbreaks, zero-day vulnerabilities, and other major security events.
  • Partner with TAG’s Policy & Compliance department on necessary changes to TAG’s suite of threat-sharing and compliance standards and tools, and develop new standards and tools to benefit the TAG Community.
  • In partnership with TAG’s CEO and COO, lead strategic planning for TAG’s Threat Intelligence department and the AdSec Threat Exchange. 
  • Speak publicly and with journalists on behalf of TAG and the TAG Community regarding criminal threats to the digital ad supply chain and threat-sharing operations to counteract such bad actors.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in, or supporting, government intelligence, counterintelligence, or law enforcement analysis and operations, including at least two years in a joint operating environment and at least five years as a senior intelligence analyst, senior intelligence officer, supervisory special agent, team leader, or program manager.
  • In place of the intelligence community or federal law enforcement leadership experience, at least five years’ experience in a leadership role for a corporate risk intelligence, threat management, enterprise security, or similar function is required. 
  • Polished written and oral communication skills, particularly in communicating actionable threat intelligence to technical and non-technical executive stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner that inspires action.
  • Proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing complex criminal investigations or intelligence operations.
  • Expert in the collection, processing, and production of OSINT.
  • Strong coalition-building, collaboration, negotiation, and facilitation skills and the ability to build trust among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cybersecurity and threat intelligence sharing platforms, including at least two years of experience in tactical cyber threat intelligence, vulnerability research, malware analysis, and exploit investigation.
  • Knowledge of the digital advertising industry and programmatic ad-serving process.
  • Understanding of malvertising threats, advertising fraud, digital piracy, and security vulnerabilities within the digital advertising supply chain and media industries.
  • Experience participating in or directly supporting an Information Sharing Analysis Center (ISAC) or Organization (ISAO).
  • Key industry certifications such as CISP, CompTIA, GIAC, etc.
  • InfraGard membership.
  • Media-trained with a record of successful media engagements, interviews, and public speaking. 
  • Masters or other related professional degree.
