Job Description We're looking for a Human Resources Manager for a large manufacturing client located near Clifton, NJ.
Position Summary The HR Manager is responsible for providing expert business partnership in all HR functional areas, including but not limited to, recruitment and selection, employee relations, organizational development, performance management, leave of absence management, payroll and timekeeping processes and talent development. This role will lead all change management activities and cultural advancement of the organization.
Responsibilities This position is a true generalist role, responsible for managing recruitment employee relations, organizational design and development, policy and procedure development, talent development, compensation administration, benefit administration, HRIS, and employee engagement activities. The person in this role will be part of the organization's leadership team, providing consultative support to directors, managers and supervisors. In addition, they will partner with the HR Director to plan strategic and tactical projects.
The person in this role will be given the autonomy to build the department as they see fit. You will lead and implement projects related to:
- Process improvement, creating administrative efficiencies, eliminating waste, saving costs through projects that innovate our approach to HR and deploy technologies and system improvements.
- Compliance of all HR transactions.
- Creating reporting mechanisms for management to use when driving business decisions.
- Leading employee relations policies, communication, implementation.
- Driving performance management initiatives for leadership including development of talent.
- Developing programs to address skill gaps, talent levels, and development needs, and manages succession plan.
- Creating and delivering/facilitating training related to HR initiatives such as benefits, talent review, skills training etc.
- Management of HR investigations and follow through on all formal complaints.
- Management of payroll/timekeeping process and cross-training on this function across sites.
- HR scorecard management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements - Bachelor's Degree required.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- SPHR / PHR certification preferred.
- 5 years HR experience with 2 in management role.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing facility.
- HRIS database experience, preferably Workday.
- Management of the Payroll/HR Admin.
- Basic business acumen, clear ability to partner with business leaders.
- Demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations and Recruiting.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Leadership skills.
- Excellent communication to include oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment law.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and influencing skills.
- MS Office abilities to Intermediate level in PowerPoint and Excel.
