TITLE: Paid College Intern

JOB TYPE: Internship – 40 hours per week for 10 weeks

PAY RATE: $15 per hour

START DATE: Orientation begins May 28, 2024

ABOUT US: The Nonantum's Internship program is designed to provide students with real-world experience and insights into potential careers in hospitality. All majors are encouraged to apply, and interns will have the opportunity to explore various positions based on their interests. Professional workshops by Educate Maine complement the experience, enhancing knowledge and imparting skills applicable across professions.

ABOUT THE JOB:

• Rotational Program: Work across departments including Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Event/Sales, Marketing, Activities, and Groundskeeping.
• Professional Development: Attend professionally led workshops on team collaboration, resume writing, and LinkedIn profile building through Maine Career Catalyst.
• Networking Events & Team-Building Activities: Engage in group meals, bowling, kayaking, paddleboarding, biking, hikes, and boat excursions.
• Community Involvement: Participate in a volunteer project to understand The Nonantum's commitment to the community.
• Capstone Project: A project related to the Nonantum experience is required for successful completion.

ABOUT YOU:

• Minimum one year of a 2- or 4-year college program completed. All majors welcome.
• Eager to learn about a career in hospitality.
• Ability and desire to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Comfortable communicating respectfully to people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Confident asking for help when needed.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Abides to the highest ethical standards.
• Seeks additional tasks during lower-volume time periods.
