Position Summary:
The Analytics & Performance team within the Systems and Quality Division works with all divisions in the Foundling to provide analytic and performance management support. The team works to define requirements for, build, publish and maintain data reporting tools and visualizations for program and organizational leadership in support of performance management, planning and decision-making. In addition, the team supports our stakeholders through faciliating performance improvement processes as well as helping users gain the most value from their data tools. The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) reports directly to the Assistant Vice President, Performance Improvement & Business Intelligence, and may work directly with any of the Foundling’s divisions on their data, reporting and analytic needs. The BIA is competent in a variety of data tools/applications (e.g. Qlik, SQL, TOAD, Python, Excel) and is comfortable working with large data sets and multiple sources to create reports, visualizations and analysis based on stakeholders’ requirements.
Position Description: (Summarize the essential functions of the job.)
The essential duties of the BIA include:
- Conceptualize, query, analyze, and build analytic products (e.g. data files, reports, visualizations) using the agency’s toolkit, including SQL, TOAD, Python, Qlik, Sharepoint, Excel and SPSS.
- Complete a variety of data management/quality tasks including merging data sets, identifying mismatches, and validating/cleaning data.
- Perform more advanced data analysis such as statistical modeling or trending as well as working with different types of data (e.g. survey, administrative, qualitative).
- Work independently and collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to complete assigned tasks.
- Bring curiosity and a willingness to build owns capacity to understand programmatic services/processes as well as in technical knowledge/skills working with various analytics tools in our data environment.
- Support our user community in getting the most value out of analytics tools/product through serving as a resource for technical assistance or training.
- Regular and punctual time and attendance, and adherence to The Foundling’s and your department’s specific time and attendance policies and protocol.

Area of study: Public Policy/Administration, Sociology, Management, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or related field
- BA/BS with 3 years of relevant experience can substitute for a Master's Degree

- Experience working with EHR (e.g. myEvolv, Office Practicum) data or public agencies’ systems data (e.g. CONNECTIONS)
- Knowledge of social services field or programs – e.g. I/DD, Child Welfare, Mental Health, Juvenile Justice
- Website design
- Proficiency in BI tools and methods
- Data management and statistical analysis
- Ability to work collaboratively within a project team
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure meeting project deadlines
Schedule: 35hrs/wk. Monday-Friday 9 am- 5 pm
