National Safety Council is Hiring a Remote Senior Project Manager

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries.

Position Highlights:

This position works with the Product Development team; NSC stakeholders, SMEs, and vendors to ensure new or revised training programs are produced on time/ budget and comply with NSC standards. Responsible for project status, budgets, resources, and schedules, and updating the overall content development and delivery plans to ensure quality, timeliness, and costs are flawlessly managed. Escalate issues and take corrective actions in a proactive manner to manage risk, as well as identify and implement process improvements. Responsible for all project-related communications. Safety: Responsible for safety as outlined in the Safety Manual. Follows safety policies and practices specific to job/position and level.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for the project: scope, RFP, stakeholders, weekly status report, invoices, budget, SME’s, vendor resources, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of all products within budget. Represent PD in the pilot testing process, including managing feedback and the revision processes with stakeholders, SME’s and vendors. Responsible for QC/ QA of all project deliverables, ensuring new/ revised training programs comply with NSC quality standards. (45%)
  • Responsible for operating with broad latitude in communicating with vendors, Practice Areas, Accounting, and Purchasing regarding project matters. Responsible for regular reporting on project status to the PD team, Project Area, and others as identified. Communicate with stakeholders, SME’s and vendors on project status, prepare and facilitate project meetings, escalate issues, and take corrective actions in a proactive manner to manage project risk. (30%)
  • Define/ maintain procedures for file retention, deletion, protection, and security. Minor updates, revisions, and maintenance on programs as determined by project scope. Select, evaluate, and manage vendors and maintain a vendor pool. (20%)
  • Responsible for safety as outlined in the Safety Manual. Follows safety policies and practices specific to job/position and level. (5%)

We’re Looking for Someone with: 

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 - 10 years experience in Project Management.
  •  5 - 10 years of experience using SmartSheets or other project management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and continually prioritize changing project tasks in a fast-paced work environment, often with competing deadlines.
  • Organizational, time management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, are required.
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability as a team leader/working in a team environment, required. Team members may be virtual, vendors, or at all organizational levels.
  • Negotiation, persuasion, and motivation skills, including ability to deal with resistance.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, listening, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to identify customer needs, analyze and logically organize information, and transform information into professionally designed, engaging, and effective solutions.
  • Manages projects to achieve desired results within team environment where activities are divided and shared among team members.
  • Makes decisions within the procedures and guidelines of National Safety Council.
  • Understands the priorities of the funder and organization to effectively support and execute projects accordingly.
  • This is a remote position.
  • Salary range: $85,000 to $93,000

Preferred Experience:

  • Creating complex high-quality learning content.
  • General understanding of Instructional Design principles (ADDIE, Bloom’s, Kirkpatrick).
  • Experience building courses in multiple modalities: ILT, VILT, eLearning, Blended
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud and/or editing PDF files.
  • Experience in the non-profit industry is also a plus.
