The Moore Center is Hiring an Early Childhood Educator Near Manchester, NH

 Position Summary: Serves as Early Childhood Educator on theEarly Supports and Services (ESS), providing special instruction, parenttraining, developmental assessment, service coordination and family support toinfants and toddlers who are enrolled in The Moore Center’s ESS Program, andtheir families.Serves as service coordinator/case manager,ensuring the coordination of all aspects of ESS programming as outlined on theIndividual Family Support Plan (IFSP), and facilitating effective communicationamong all IFSP team members.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Works with children, families and other members of the ESS team to provide comprehensive early interventionservices for children enrolled in The Moore Center’s ESS Program.
  2. Serves as ESS eligibility evaluator, as needed. Completes written evaluation reports describing child’s individual strengths, skill levels and areas for growth in all areas of development.
  3. Provides earlyeducation expertise in the development of Individual Family Support Plans (IFSPs).
  4. Schedules and provides special instruction and service coordination, for assigned children, as detailed on the child’sIndividual Family Support Plan (IFSP).
  5. Provides written‘carry over’ activity suggestions that help parents and caregivers support the child’s progress and overall development between home visits/special instruction sessions.
  6. Completes all paperwork in a timely fashion, as identified in the Paperwork, Policies & Procedures for ESS Service Providers handbook.
  7. Maintains utilization /productivity rate of at least 50%.
  8. Supports and guides families through the process of transitioning from ESS to public preschool special educationservices or other community based preschool activities.
  9. Serves as earlyeducation and behavioral consultant to other members of the ESS team.
  10. Participates in weekly staff meetings, co-visits with other therapists and peer supervision activities, both formaland informal.
  11. Completes required annual trainings as identified by NH Bureau of Developmental Services (BDS) /Family Centered Early Supports and Services and Moore Center’s Human Resources Department policies.
  12. Attends team meetings, case conferences and other meetings as assigned.
  13. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport, develop and maintain strong, respectful working relationships with very young children, families, ESS staff and state and regional colleagues.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development, both typical and atypical, across all areas of development, including cognitive, language, social-emotional, gross and fine motor development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP)
  • Understanding of best practice relative to home visiting and family-centered ESS services.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a trans-disciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of NH Family Centered Early Supports and Services (FCESS)
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and commitment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to The Moore Center’s values
  • Ability to comply with all state, agency and department policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to master new software

 Allstaff must adhere to the NH state law requiring mandated reporting of suspectedabuse, neglect, or exploitation. Additionally, staff is required to maintaincriminal, motor vehicle and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services record checksthat meet agency standards. Staff are also required to travel and transportclients when applicable. This includes having access to a reliable vehicle, avalid driver’s license and maintaining personal auto insurance of$100,000/300,000.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; graduate degree is preferred.
  • NH Department of Education certification in Early Childhood Education.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a safe operating vehicle during scheduled working hours.
  • Professional experience working with young children and their families.
