The Mill Coffee & Tea is Hiring a Barista Near Omaha, NE

Job Duties:

  • You show kindness and positivity in every interaction you have with others.
  • You get to meet new people every day. Greet and thank each customer with a smile!
  • You feel comfortable adjusting to changing circumstances and encourage your coworkers to do the same. We learn and grow, together!
  • You help each customer out with their different needs - coffee, tea, beverages, retail or bar and make them feel appreciated in your interactions.
  • You love ensuring that all products are handed to each customer with the highest quality and consistent standards.
  • You are reliable. Show up to work on time and ready to go!
  • You exude positivity. It’s the key to being great!
  • You communicate availability needs and follow proper call-out procedures. Be helpful when things come up. Everyone appreciates it.
  • You will stand, walk, or be in movement during your working hours, which can be up to 9 hours in a shift. We give you breaks to recharge!
  • You will work at least three shifts each week. Being consistent is the key to excellent work and the customer getting exactly what they are expecting.

The keys:

  • Know your resources. It's important that you adhere to all company policies and procedures as laid out in The Mill Employee Handbook.
  • Be on time. Ensure you have reliable transportation and can be on time for scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.
  • Food Handler Permit or Certification. As a prerequisite to employment, you'll need to obtain and maintain this as required by local regulations.
  • Complete, pass, and maintain trainings. We will set you up for success. Trainings, certifications, and knowledge tests will ensure you can meet The Mill’s standards and policies (and our awesome customer’s expectations). Federal, state, and local regulations will be included.
  • Communication. Written, oral, and verbal English proficiency is required. Other language fluency is highly valued. Talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas using verbal communication happens regularly. You will need to view things from near and/or far distances.

This is a tipped position. Compensation: Up to $17.00 per hour. The number includes an average tip of $11.00 per hour. What we strive for: a fun environment, great co-workers, and a chance to make a difference in our community. What we don't guarantee: tip averages. Actual tips may vary based on a variety of factors including location, position, hours, and quality of service. Average hourly tips are based on current-year reporting.

Typical work hours are between 5am – 11pm, with shifts being 6-9 hours in length.
