The Midwife Center for Birth and Women’s Health is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Pittsburgh, PA

Medical Assistant

Our Mission:

The Midwife Center promotes wellness by providing exceptional, client-centered primary gynecological, pregnancy and birthing care in southwestern Pennsylvania’s only independent birth center.

Job Description:

The Midwife Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to providers and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and administrative processes. Duties include phlebotomy, client care, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing clerical support. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, client-centered care in our birth center.

Position Type: Full-time (1.0 FTE)

Qualification:

  • Associate’s Degree as a Medical Assistant required
  • Minimum one year of experience with blood draws and processing labs required
  • Minimum one year of experience performing clerical tasks for a medical office required
  • Minimum one year experience with electronic health records and scheduling preferred
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Compassionate and client-centered approach to care

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $30,000 - $40,000 per year, based on experience
  • Health, dental and vision insurance
  • 403b retirement plan with a 4% match after vesting period
