The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is looking to hire an Employee Relations Specialist. This position will support the District in all aspects of Employee Relations, including handling grievances and disciplinary actions; conducting investigations; representing the District in negotiation meetings with bargaining units; advising managers and supervisors on employee relations matters; and providing training to managers as needed.
Duties will include but are not limited to providing consultation to managers and supervisors on a daily basis on employee relations matters, including but not limited to grievance handling; administering employee discipline as appropriate; MOU interpretation; and performance management. This role will also represent District management in grievance and disciplinary meetings; represent the District in negotiation meetings with bargaining units, and negotiate settlements/resolutions where possible. This role will also provide Employee Relations training to managers.
The ideal candidate will have a record of demonstrating the highest level of ethics and integrity.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years relevant experience.
Relevant Experience is defined as: Labor Relations, Employee Relations and Human Resources principles, practices, and procedures; including research methods and techniques.
This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involves confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information.
