The MetroHealth System is Hiring a Supervisor Facilities Compliance - Facilities Engineering Near Cleveland, OH

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Summary:

Assists the Manager Facility Compliance in the management of the Facilities compliance program for all The MetroHealth System’s facilities/buildings (either owned or leased). Understands all applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements from federal, state, local, and other authorities having jurisdiction. Works closely with Facilities Management (FM) Managers, other departments, the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee, and appropriate leaders/administrators to ensure the compliance program fully supports/compliments both clinical and non-clinical operations. Evaluates planned facility acquisitions for physical compliance issues. Inspects and assists in resolving issues founds during normal operations or construction. Supports all aspects of compliance to ensure safe, effective operations. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:Meets one of the following:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, or other related field from an accredited institution or, • 4 years working in a healthcare facilities environment or,• 4 years of other compliance related work experience. Working knowledge of various codes, standards and regulations as set forth by authorities having jurisdiction over the MHS, such as national, state, and local regulatory agencies. Experience with interpreting codes, standards and regulations set forth by agencies, e.g., The Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Ohio Basic Building Code (OBBC), the National Electric Code (NEC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Bureau of Underground Storage Tanks (BUSTR), etc.).Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.Ability to effectively work with staff members, interdepartmental teams, and organizational leadership across the enterprise to effectively implement compliance measures. Experience working with The Joint Commission and CMS Physical Environment standards within a healthcare setting. Eligible for and working towards becoming a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) by the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (BCHCM). Strong interpersonal communication skills. Solid computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel to all facilities within The MetroHealth System.Preferred:6 years of Facilities Healthcare experience.Membership in the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) or NFPA strongly preferred.One or more of the following current certifications:• Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) by the American Hospital Association (AHA).• Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHS) by the AHA.• CHSP by the BCHCM.Currently a BUSTR Class A Operator.Completed Fire Fighter I (FFI) or Fire Fighter II (FFII) training. Currently certified as a Fire Safety Inspector by the State of Ohio. Completed Hazardous Materials Awareness training. Experience with Simplex fire alarm systems. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.Physical Requirements:May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.Ability to climb a ladder.May need to sit or stand for extended periods.See in the normal visual range with or without correction.Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
