Join our Team! Immediate Hire! We have a new opportunity for a Bilingual Clinician in our Adult Sex Offender Program located in White Plains, NY program. Base Hourly Salary Ranges: $40-$135.00 per group and or administrative tasks.

SUMMARY of DUTIES:

Our Adult Sex Offender (ASO) Program delivers sex offender-specific behavioral health services to individuals who are on probation related to a sex offense as well as their families when indicated. The clinician is responsible for the provision of direct client services through the facilitation of weekly groups and coordination with other agencies serving the clients, including probation and polygraphy. The clinician in the ASO Program will demonstrate expertise in providing trauma-informed care, utilizing evidence-based approaches, specific to sex offending behavior. The Clinician must possess the ability to engage and affect change through a person-centered model. The Clinician will demonstrate initiative, flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative spirit. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide culturally sensitive direct, clinical services, which may include but are not limited to: sex-offender-specific assessment and treatment planning and group psychotherapy.
2. Document client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures. 
3. Integrate findings of psychosexual evaluations into treatment.
4. Conduct case conferences with probationers and the probation department.
5. Identify case management needs of clients and coordinate with other agency staff and community agencies to have these needs met. 
6. Collaborate with Probation/Parole and polygrapher.
7. Prepare status reports and documentation for court.
8. Perform crisis intervention as necessary. 
9. Participate in program development and in training programs. 
10. Follow the established clinic policies & procedures. 
11. Maintain appropriate professional standards. 
12. Other designated or related duties.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: 

1. Fluency in conversational and written Spanish.
2. Principles, practices, and methods of community mental health treatment including interviewing, assessment, group counseling, and crisis intervention. 
3. Applicable city, state, and federal guidelines and laws affecting mental health treatment, services, and reporting procedures. 
4. Principles of psychological growth, development, and psychopathology. 
5. Knowledge of community mental health resources.
6. Understanding the impact of culture on mental health practices. 
7. Knowledge of principles and practices of group psychotherapy, with specific awareness of sex offense-specific issues.
8. Knowledge of various theoretical and treatment models pertaining to sex-offending behavior, including but not limited to CBT, the Good Lives Model, and Risk/Need/Responsivity Model.
9. Knowledge of the science of polygraphy and how to utilize questionnaires to prepare individuals for the polygraph exam and incorporate findings into treatment.
10. Ability to facilitate the chaperone/safeguard process. 
11. Knowledge of risk assessment measures and dynamic risk factors.
12. Understanding of the results/findings of psychosexual evaluations, how to address the findings with the probationers, and how to integrate results and recommendations.
13. Knowledge of behavioral techniques which assist with modifying probationers’ behaviors related to sex offending.
14.  Understanding of trauma-informed care.
15. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural humility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Fluency in conversational and written Spanish.

1. The Clinician must be, in active status, a New York State LCSW, LMSW, LMHC or Ph.D. Psychologist with sex offender expertise. 
2. The Clinician must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality. 
3. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to document in an electronic health record is required. 
4. The Clinician must be cleared by the NYS Justice Center through fingerprinting for a Criminal History Records search. 
5. The Clinician must be cleared by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs Staff Exclusion List (SEL) and the New York State Medicaid Exclusion List. 
6. The Clinician must be cleared by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) for instances of child abuse and/or neglect. 
7. The Clinician must be cleared by the DCJS New York State Sex Offender Registry.
8. The Clinician must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
