The Maryland House is Hiring a Community Manager / Administrative Assistant Near St. Louis, MO

The Maryland House
Maryland House is a rooftop cocktail bar, event space, art collective and membership-based lounge in the Central West End, St. Louis MO.

Maryland House opened in 2005 above the original Brennan’s at 4659 Maryland Avenue. From 2005 until Brennan’s relocation in 2020, Maryland House served as a favorite haunt among St. Louisans far and wide, offering cocktails, wine, beer, food and a charming space for private events. Through the years, Maryland House won numerous local awards, including Best Bar, Best Lounge, Best Place for A Nightcap, Best Place to Lose Yourself in Time, and more.

The Role
The Community Manager is a full-time salaried role. You will act as administrative leadership - you'll be onsite engaging directly with members, while assisting in event execution and business operations.

The Team
We're a dedicated, creative team that loves to work hard, make cool stuff happen, and have fun. You'll work directly with the leadership teams and owner of both Brennan's and The Maryland House.

Responsibilities

Assist guests, patrons, members, or employees with personal services such as making dinner and tour reservations, offering suggestions for events, as well as promoting upcoming events.

Build relationships with members, taking the opportunity to learn more about their joys, ensuring that they have a unique, warm experience everytime they visit the Maryland House.

Developing relationships with guests, educating them on what the Maryland House is and how to become a member.

Answering the Brennan's and Maryland house phone, greeting guests and members, establishing reason for calling, answering any questions and/or directing them to appropriate person/department.

Work directly with the Head of Memberships Events to create proposals, invoices, BEO's, menus and other key components for our events.

Weekly Food Ordering, checking BEOs and placing food orders accordingly, assuring deliveries happen on time and that shorted items are sourced and reordered to maintain correct inventory pars.

Weekly Scheduling & Payroll, submitting 2 week out scheduling and all payroll hours for all staff members for both places through our Toast account.

Handling monthly and quarterly basic bookkeeping for Brennan’s & MH.

Email communication updating members on the status of their house accounts at both Brennan's Cigar Lounge and Maryland House.

Responsible for office supplies, cleanliness and organization.

Build membership packets and welcome new members into the space.

Assist in outreach and recruitment activities via phone, e-mail and social campaigns.

Build monthly social media calendar via HootSuite.

Be a brand voice, and engage with social media audience to build following and brand loyalty.

Contribute to our content library by periodically photographing and getting clips of events.

Assist in event coordination for private and Maryland House events.

Requirements
5 years in Hospitality / Customer Service.
Social Media Management experience a plus.
Experience with Canva, Monday, Zapier, Wix, and Hootsuite a plus.
