Position: Teacher, CTAE-Engineering Technology/Innovation 2024-2025 Reports to: Principal Work Site: The Main Street Academy; College Park, GA FLSA Status Salary (Exempt) Job Summary: The Teacher, CTAE-Engineering Technology teacher provides instruction in selected areas of Engineering Technology & Innovation to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for a career and post-secondary opportunities The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is seeking both experienced and new graduates to come to join us. A successful candidate will provide instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards. Bachelor’s Degree
Valid Georgia Certificate
Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of students
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicable CTAE Endorsement or Engineering & Technology Endorsement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on state and local curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and co-curricular experiences.
Provides community-based instruction and projects based on program guidelines and requirements.
Provides leadership opportunities for students by establishing a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO)
Manages and maintains program facilities and equipment
Adheres to all state guidelines required for the implementation of a successful program
Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for
individual and small groups of students
Uses identified research-based interventions focuses specifically on individual student needs
Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress
Communicates with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progress
Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups
Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and progress
Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed
Ancillary Job Functions
Provides input for program development
Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems
Other duties as deemed necessary by the principal
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to demonstrate and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and building principal
Experienced in collaborating with teacher teams and adapting work to the needs of teachers and students
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to utilize technology for communication and instruction to work with parents, students, and other service agencies
Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision
Knowledge and experience using technology for communication, data analysis, gathering and organizing information for presentations
Working knowledge of current research and resources in math instruction
Proficient use of the computer
Maintain confidentiality
