Position: Teacher, CTAE-Engineering Technology/Innovation 2024-2025
Reports to: Principal
Work Site: The Main Street Academy; College Park, GA
FLSA Status Salary (Exempt)
Job Summary:
The Teacher, CTAE-Engineering Technology teacher provides instruction in selected areas of Engineering Technology & Innovation to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for a career and post-secondary opportunities The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is seeking both experienced and new graduates to come to join us. A successful candidate will provide instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards. Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Georgia Certificate
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of students
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Applicable CTAE Endorsement or Engineering & Technology Endorsement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on state and local curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and co-curricular experiences.
  • Provides community-based instruction and projects based on program guidelines and requirements.
  • Provides leadership opportunities for students by establishing a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO)
  • Manages and maintains program facilities and equipment
  • Adheres to all state guidelines required for the implementation of a successful program
  • Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for
  • individual and small groups of students
  • Uses identified research-based interventions focuses specifically on individual student needs
  • Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
  • Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress
  • Communicates with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progress
  • Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups
  • Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and progress
  • Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed
Ancillary Job Functions
  • Provides input for program development
  • Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the principal
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and building principal
  • Experienced in collaborating with teacher teams and adapting work to the needs of teachers and students
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to utilize technology for communication and instruction to work with parents, students, and other service agencies
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision
  • Knowledge and experience using technology for communication, data analysis, gathering and organizing information for presentations
  • Working knowledge of current research and resources in math instruction
  • Proficient use of the computer
  • Maintain confidentiality
