The Lodge at Schroon Lake is Hiring an Events Manager Near Schroon Lake, NY

Job Description:
Shift: Weekend


The Lodge at Schroon Lake is looking to hire an exceptional Events Manager who can work with our F&B and Sales team to oversee and deliver outstanding service during Weddings and other evets held at The Lodge.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with F&B Management to ensure all banquet staff are onboarded, trained, coached, disciplined, motivated, developed, and rewarded consistently.
  • Provide on-site management of event logistics on the day of event.
  • Assist in the development of departmental training and outcomes.
  • Assist F&B Management in the management and adherence to all banquet standards, appearance and uniform guidelines, time and attendance policy, steps of service and service standards, etc.
  • Management of special product needs based on BEO, receiving, product storage and organization of banquet storage areas.
  • Develop and lead date of event staff meetings.
  • Meets with the sales team and food and beverage regularly to plan and coordinate efforts for scheduled functions to ensure the efficient execution of the event, and that it adheres to customer guidelines.
  • Works closely with the Executive Chef regarding specialty menu requests and package pricing.
  • Works closely with the banquet captain and assists with expediting.
  • Pro-actively review BEO with sales team. Attend BEO meetings as necessary. Ensure all anticipated needs are met.
  • Creates floor plans and assists with setting up the day of the event.
  • Flexibility to step into whatever role is needed at the time in order to deliver exceptional customer service. This may include taking on job responsibilities outside of this job description and may require assisting other departments in their regular functions.
  • Take initiative as shown by doing assigned tasks without prompting and developing new sales ideas and programs.
  • Cooperate with others in completing assigned tasks in a teamwork fashion.
  • Adapt to working in a fast-paced and crowded environment during party execution.
  • Communicate final billing with client. Process payment at close of event. Complete event paperwork according to sales procedure.
  • Oversee banquet bar and requisition of liquor. Ensure proper cash handling procedures and adherence to beverage standards.
  • Oversee duties of banquet housemen, ensuring all set-up needs are met prior to an event.
  • Act as guest point of contact on date of event, ensuring guest satisfaction and approachability with any service need.

Salary: 60,000 to 65,000
Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to remain standing for 10 hours (or 100% of shift).
  • Ability to remain in a standing or stationary position for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to frequently move and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to lift items overhead.
  • Ability to walk the property and grounds regularly.
  • Ability to move up and down stairs regularly.
  • Ability to bend frequently and repetitively during a shift.
  • Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity.
  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, often in a public forum.
  • Ability to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information effectively.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English.
