Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Using insurance online portals to obtain authorization and verify eligibility.
• Making phone calls to the insurance companies to verify benefits and obtain authorization
• Insurance verification and authorization including all private insurances and Medicaid via EQ health benefit explanations to patients/helping them with our grants and opportunities
• Use of EHR data entry; tracking authorizations; running reports communicating with team members and providers to ensure continuity of care

working directly with Medical billing team

• Review and collaboration Attending and assisting patients at the front desk as needed
• Keeping track of authorization expirations for ongoing services and getting timely re-authorization
• Gathering and sharing documentation required by the insurance company with stakeholders.
• Enter insurance and authorization information into data system (data entry).
• Communicate well with fellow team members around the state
• Input new patient information and update information in our system
• Monitor schedule for potential issues
• Complete billing documentation
• Assist with other clerical tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• H.S. diploma or GED
• One year of experience in insurance verification, precertification, billing, or related insurance position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Detailed oral and written communications skills required.
• Candidates should have solid typing speed and accuracy, and good computer skills, with the ability to utilize multiple computer systems in desktop environment to accomplish results.
• Effective communication skills. Ability to work independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
