The Leonardo is Hiring an Event Facilities Technician Near Salt Lake, UT

EVENT FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

The Leonardo seeks an Event Facilities Technician to join our team and mission to fuse science, technology, and art in experiences that inspire creativity and innovation in people of all ages and backgrounds.

OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will have experience with repairing and maintaining facilities and managing audiovisual and other tech equipment and elements, and have a passion for serving our community.

  • Pay Rate: $14 per hour PLUS TIPS
  • Schedule: Part-time, On-call, Including weekends and nights, depending on event schedule
  • Reports to: Senior Events Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Main priorities: Equipment and facilities setup and maintenance, audiovisual management, lighting coordination, staging and set construction, and other related facilities and technical support
  • Sets up and tears down all events according to banquet event orders and event floor plans
  • Make sure A/V equipment is properly handled and maintained and alert the Facilities Manager if anything is damaged or if additional supplies are needed
  • Provide technical support to presenters, performers, and speakers, assisting them with connecting to audiovisual equipment and addressing any technical issues
  • Attend and participate in workshops, training sessions, and other meetings
  • Additional responsibilities as needed

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: Experience maintaining and repairing various facilities, soundboards, lighting consoles, and other facilities and tech equipment
  • Competencies: Customer-service-oriented mindset; Proactive problem solver
  • Physical/Other Requirements: Physical stamina, able to stand for extended period of time and able to regularly lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs and rarely over 100 lbs
