Systems Engineer / Cloud Engineer

The Learning Experience Corporate World Headquarters is looking for enthusiastic and ambitious individuals to join our Information Technology staff. Team members will work in a highly-collaborative, rapidly growing environment that supports over 300 early-childhood education centers around the world.

The TLE Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based infrastructure in AWS along with the support and advancement of existing virtual and on-prem systems. This individual will leverage existing resources to monitor and maintain current systems and will work closely with both our development and support teams to ensure that we meet SLA’s and provide consistent uptime.

This position will require intimate knowledge of various cloud platforms and technologies along with a fundamental understanding of networking and systems administration. The role will also be responsible for user administration, server patching, backups, and various technical troubleshooting tasks that are critical to the organization.

Required Operational Knowledge

• Ability to design and maintain High-Availability environments in AWS
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) operations including EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, and related technologies
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Amazon RDS
• Virtualization experience utilizing VMWare Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019
• Active Directory, Azure, Exchange, and Office365 Administration
• Strong background in both Hardware and Virtual networking technologies
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices

Daily Responsibilities

• Manage day to day operations of server hardware and software across both physical and virtual environments
• Work closely with both Systems Administration and Software Development teams to effectively build and maintain necessary infrastructure to align with company goals
• Effectively manage and or directly resolve escalated support tickets, prioritizing and escalating as necessary to meet or exceed IT Department Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
• Participate in the implementation of long-range plans and projects
• Perform server maintenance, patch management, and network updates on a consistent basis

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with a technical major such as Information Systems or Computer Science
• 5 years of experience working as a System Administrator, Systems Engineer, or Cloud Architect
• Ability to multitask, and problem solve at a high level
