About the Role:
The Learning Experience - World Headquarters is seeking a Director Government Relations to join our team in Deerfield Beach, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our government relations efforts and make a real impact on our organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement government relations strategies to support the company's goals
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory activities that may impact the company
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government officials and stakeholders
  • Advocate for the company's interests with government agencies and policymakers
  • Prepare and present reports on government relations activities to senior management
  • Work with contract lobbyists to implement state specific strategic plans
  • Prepare and/or deliver state level legislative or regulatory testimony
  • Create data-focused state profiles for policymakers to introduce the organization.
  • Coordinate advocacy with external business partners; state-level contract lobbyists, trade associations, advocacy groups
  • Produce internal reports and presentations, when needed, including legislative analysesRequirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in government relations or public affairs
    • Experience in state advocacy on education issues, preferable with experience in multistate advocacy
    • Strong understanding of the legislative process and regulatory environment
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
