The Leadership School is an educational option that prepares students to be in the driver’s seat of their own learning and to navigate the path toward the lives they imagine for themselves. We are the first public charter school in St. Louis County, paving the way for educational choice and opportunity for all families in the St. Louis area. We opened our doors in 2022 and serve K-4 students in the Normandy area. We are building our team of hardworking, results-oriented educators who embody our mission: to grow our students’ leadership capacity through earnest engagement in academically rigorous, culturally relevant, and relationship-oriented environment.
Make your voice heard as we create the blueprint for educational excellence in the St. Louis area. Our team begins each year with 3.5 weeks of professional development in the summer and then dedicates themselves throughout the year to your growth. We believe our students deserve an excellent staff, and we know that excellence is the result of planning, practice, feedback, iteration, and a commitment to continuous growth.
We aren’t walking into a school – we’re building one. The work will be hard, and it will be worth it.

The Leadership Difference
To provide students with the best possible learning environment, TLS must attract, develop, and retain high-quality teachers and leaders. We believe that our students deserve the highest quality instruction, which means our teachers need the time and support to become content and instructional experts. Our innovative staff model is designed to create a supportive, motivating, and sustainable environment for all staff. In order to build a sustainable work environment, TLS will provide on-going coaching and development, dedicated time for content teams to collaborate and flexibility in the hours a teacher and leaders spend on campus. This will help ensure teachers feel supported and will prevent teacher burnout.
As The Leadership School grows, we will need leaders who are prepared to step into new leadership positions. We believe that it is critical that we invest in, develop, and retain our people. Each employee at The Leadership School will set career goals, create a plan for their career pathway, and receive coaching and development around their professional growth.
