Baker/Bakery Associate (for Nestle Toll House customer)

Join our culinary team! LDM has partnered with Nestle Toll House in delivering freshly baked cookies ordered from OFO (online food ordering apps) to local DC consumers. Become a part of the LDM Group Bakery team. The Baker will be required to bake cookies and fulfill online orders as they're received. Possible oversight of the kitchen during Head Baker’s days off may be required (dependent upon qualifications).

This is a hourly position approximately 15-30 hours of work per week, working Sunday - Saturday with various schedules including day, evening, nights and weekends. Must be flexible, willing to work late nights into early mornings, and willing to work hard. Paid Parking or Transportation Stipend. Great environment and colleagues. REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-2 years of professional bakery/kitchen experience desired (culinary students are encouraged to apply)
• Professional Baking skills
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs and/or push boxes as required
• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively via computer, POS, phone
• Experience with Online Food Ordering (OFO) systems (i.e., DoorDash, UberEats, Grubhub, etc.).
• Basic knowledge and respect for safe food-handling
• Basic math, reading and writing skills required
• Culinary/Pastry Degree preferred but not required
• ServSafe Certification desired (active) and or obtain within 30 days of hire
• DC Health Department license preferred, but not required
• Desire to learn and be a part of a team environment
• Reliable transportation to and from Washington, DC (Union Kitchen) a must
• Great attitude, dependable and customer service focused

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Preparing food items to be baked
• Baking food items according to instructions and guidelines
• Preparing packaging for orders
• Working with other team members to timely fulfilling orders
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Keeping inventory and workstation organized and stocked
• Following directions given by Kitchen Manager and/or Nestle management
• Communicating clearly and effectively with direct manager, Nestle management and Union Kitchen staff
• Upholding the high standards of the Nestle Toll House brand in actions, activities.
• Being an extension of the brand in all actions and activities.
• Working within the brand, production, and pilot guidelines set forth by Nestlé management.
• Respecting and maintaining regulations and guidance for good kitchen stewardship as a member of Union Kitchen.
