Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Paralegal, you will provide essential support to attorneys and assist with various legal tasks. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of legal procedures will contribute to the success of our firm.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, contracts, and briefs
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information
- Review and analyze documents for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare drafts of legal correspondence and memos
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness lists
- Provide administrative support, such as answering phone calls, managing calendars, and maintaining office supplies
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
- Proficient in using legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
- Strong proofreading skills to ensure error-free documents
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in interviewing clients and witnesses
- Familiarity with project management principles
- Knowledge of clerical duties within a legal setting
